LISBON, NY — Following his victory in the Democratic primary for New York’s 21st Congressional District, farmer and small business owner Blake Gendebien released the following statement:
“Tonight, Northern New Yorkers made their voices heard, and I am honored and humbled to earn their support.
“Over the last 18 months, this campaign has traveled to every corner of this district, listening to families, farmers, veterans, workers, seniors, and small business owners who feel like Washington has forgotten them. Together, we built a campaign focused on lowering costs, protecting rural healthcare, securing our border, and delivering real results for the people of the North Country.
“This election has never been about political parties or the political bosses in Washington and Albany. It’s about who will fight for the people who call this district home.
“In November, voters will have a clear choice between a farmer who wants to change Washington, and an internet troll who wants to be another DC insider. Doesn’t matter to him if he’s famous as a rapper, influencer, or politician – make no mistake: Anthony Constantino thinks this campaign is about him and what he can get out of it.
“My job as a farmer is to feed my friends and neighbors, but Washington is ignoring us and it’s making my job and the lives of every North Country resident harder. We need a member of Congress who focuses every day on doing what’s right for Upstate NY – not what’s right for their own success or the DC insiders who helped get them there.That’s the difference between Mr. Constantino and myself – I’ll stand up to anyone, Democrat or Republican, to fight for you and he’ll bow to the people running DC as long as it helps him. I’ll never lose sight of who I’m fighting for.
